Futures market suggested a higher open for U.S. stock markets

TORONTO - The futures market suggested a higher open for U.S. stock markets Monday amid worries about the possible economic effects of the attacks in Paris last week.

The attacks, which left 129 people dead and more than 350 injured, have added to jitters for investors already nervous about slowing growth in China and the future of the eurozone.

On the commodity markets, the December gold contract gained US$10.30 at US$1,091.2, while the December crude contract climbed 86 cents to US$41.60 per barrel.

The December contract for natural gas was up 4.1 cents at US$2.402.

The Canadian dollar was up 0.05 of a cent at 75.14 cents US.
