IF you are living in the southern part of the peninsula and own a Harley-Davidson motorcycle - or if you're a non-owner who simply loves the American brand's quintizillions of merchandise, then you MUST drop by Johor's first-ever Harley-Davidson dealership.
Located at Lot 4082, 15B, Jalan Dato’ Abdullah Tahir, 80300, Johor Baru, Johor, the dealership is owned by Naza Prestige Bikes Sdn Bhd - the authorised Malaysian dealer and sole distributor of Harley-Davidson.
The opening yesterday was officiated by the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar.
Naza Group's joint group executive chairman Datuk Wira SM Faisal Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin, who witnessed the launch, said the dealership will provide a full-fledge service for its riders and customers.
The dealership is Naza Prestige Bikes’ third dealership in Malaysia after Kuala Lumpur and Penang. It is expected to offer "premium Harley-Davidson lifestyle experience" which includes state-of-the-art motorcycle service centre and an exclusive Harley-Davidson merchandise boutique for its customers and fans from Malaysia and Singapore.
"The iconic brand’s one-stop centre in Johor Baru will be proud to host and provide a comfortable and relaxing venue for Harley-Davidson motorcycle enthusiasts, to share and exchange their riding experience. Under the management of Naza Prestige Bikes, the company will create excitement amongst Harley-Davidson customers and fans alike” said Faisal.
He added that the dealership marked an important milestone for Naza Prestige Bikes in serving the needs of Harley-Davidson enthusiasts by enhancing its brand presence and extending its services to the southern region.

After being under a few different managements since the 1990's, the brand was paired with Naza Prestige Bikes which opened its first Harley-Davidson dealership in October 2008, at the Naza Automall in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. The one-stop centre, which comprises of a motorcycle showroom, a general merchandise boutique and an air-conditioned service centre, was replicated and established similarly for the Penang and Johor Baru dealership. The latter is open every day from 10am to 7pm.
Later in the evening, a dinner party was held to commemorate the opening, where hundreds of Harley-Davidson owners and their machines, plus those on other bikes too, converged at the dealership for some fun, games, music and heaps of food. The bikers were mainly from around Johor, Klang Valley and Singapore, with some from other Malaysian states.
