A car believed to have been used by gunmen who fired at people in restaurants during the attacks in Paris has been found in one of the city's eastern suburbs.
French investigators used a fingerprint from a severed finger retrieved from the Bataclan to identify Ismaël Omar Mostefai, one of the eight assailants involved in co-ordinated attacks across Paris.
The 29-year-old French national from Courcouronnes is thought to be one of three suicide bombers who took control of the concert hall, killing at least 89 people and holding more than 200 concert-goers hostage.
The attackers died at the venue, reportedly detonating their vests when police stormed inside.
A black Seat car was located by police in the eastern suburb of Montreuil and is believed to have been used at two of the six locations on Friday; a bar on rue de la Fontaine-au-Roi where five people were killed, and a restaurant on rue de Charonne where 19 were killed.
Six people close to Mostefai have been detained, including his father, brother and sister-in-law, judicial and police sources said.
Sources told Agence France-Presse they are being questioned as part of routine efforts to verify information about Mostefai.
"It's a crazy thing, it's madness," Mostefai's brother said before being detained on Saturday.
Police are reportedly searching Mostefai's father's home in the small town of Romilly-sur-Seine - about 130km east of Paris, as well as his brother's house in nearby Bondoufle.
Mostefai is thought to have spent several months in Syria during the European winter of 2013-14. Investigators have traced his journey to France through Turkey, according to French newspaper Le Monde.
Born on November 21, 1985, Mostefai isdescribed in Le Journal du Centre as a "young father" with two brothers and two sisters. One of his brothers is thought to be one of the other gunmen at the Bataclan, although investigators are still seeking to confirm this, Le JDC reports.
